What
is your cutting style?
Since
I started cutting, softer more flattering outlines, with stronger shapes
have been my facination. About a 15 years ago, I used only scissors. Antoine
Spinelli influenced my adapting the clipper, which relaxed my overly geometric
thinking.. Then worked with Ron Lee, Architects & Heros, learned some
great scissor texturizing techniques, as well developing a better eye.
Nowerdays, a straight-edge razor is my preferred tool. After some hesitation
from razor-phobia, my clientele seem unanimous, they love uncut precision
given by the razor.

How
much time do you allow for a haircut?
Cuts normally take a full hour, either for women or men, especially
for first time clients. This makes it harder to get an appointment, but
you can't rush creativity. It doesn't work like that.

What
is your favorite haircut?
I don't have a favorite cut, but do enjoy taking a client to "their"
next level. We have all been places, but all still want to go places.
Hair design evolves into a more satisfying result each time. The same
hairstyle, can have a thousand inclinations, at least...

How
often should I get my hair cut?
Men should generally get cuts every 4-6 weeks. Women should get trims
every 6-8 weeks for short hair, 7-10 weeks for shoulder lengths, long
hair shouldn't go more than 12 weeks with out trimming the ends. The main
reason is to reduce the risk of getting split ends. Split ends move up
the hair shaft faster than the hair grows from the root. This means that
your won't get rid of them unless you cut a lot ot hair, so get those
trims and have healthy beautiful hair.

Is
it better to cut hair wet or dry?
Generally freshly washed hair yeilds the best results. Razor cutting
must be done on wet hair, though after blow drying or allowing to dry
naturally during the cut, a second look at the hair's movement, shape
and texture should be done.

Softer lines, strong silhouettes smoothed sleek or worked fuller are
most popular these days. Though rare for a client to ask for a clean
sharp line, those Sassoon days will never be forgotten. Many techniques
infused provide practical results everytime.
