What makes a great hair product?
A great hair product makes styling easier and last longer. Sounds
simple and it really is. However, getting to the point where you
have the right product, and understand how to use it, is the hard
part. Having a stylist that uses product to extend longevity and
versatility of the looks created in the salon will ensure you 're
on the right track.

Do
hair products cause build up on my hair?
Yes some products cause chemical reactions with metals in hair and
can coat the cuticle layer. This is why grey hair, which has a much
less metals in the hair, generally isn't prone to build up. * An
important side-note is that great hair products have been thoroughly
tested, for build up and anything else that could be undesirable.

Who
approves the final product vesions?
This is a great question and is probably the most important decision
that affects what makes a product great. In most case the decision
isn't even made by someone who does hair. Editorial stylists need
to do more than one look on models during a single shoot or fashion
show. Bumble and Bumble's products are created for the demands of
their top stylists. The products are meant to get the job done,
then allow the hair to be brushed out with little effort and certainly
without build up. Can your products do that?

Should
I change my products occasionally to avoid buildup?
Clients tend to ask this question from time to time. I find that
people want to change the "feel" of their style much more
often than they want to change their style. Nothing is better than
using a new product to spice up the look or to refine the message.
Also I find that usually the hair style will become more flat, or
more full, too full or too flat. Use appropriate products that help
control shapes and textures so you can enjoy your style between
salon visits.

I've
just moved to Hawaii and my hair's texture has gone nuts! Are there
humidity specific products to help my hair stop frizzing out?
Definitely! Hawaii has the highest year-round humidity levels of
anywhere in the US. Styling hair with products that work against
or with humidity will certainly help make your hair's texture look
its best and stay that way longer. Working in Hawaii has made me
realize that product advice from mainland companyies are often scoffed
at by my clients with ethnic hair textures. Every one of my clients
is given specific product recommendations and along with instructions
on how to customize hair products and styling techniques to work
in their favor.
