“The best testimonial of a lash artist, comes from another lash artist”.Ariel's Testimonial of Lise Padron
I am a Licensed cosmetologist that has been in the beauty industry for the past 8years. Being that the Eyelash Extension Industry was not so popular when I first started cosmetology school we were not educated on Eyelash Extensions. Later in my career I learned a little here and there about it. I thought it would be a good idea to test it out.
I’ve had my lashes done in the past for 2 years straight by another eyelash extension salon. With no consultation or patch test I would let them choose whatever they thought would look best on me. When I had them done, I remember having a hard time seeing through my lashes due to the thickness and weight of the eyelash extension that the stylist chose for me. I would get my lashes filled every 2-3 weeks due to the patchy holes that I started seeing in my lashes. When my lashes would fall out I noticed that 1 eyelash extension would be glued to 2-3 of my real lashes. I also realized that majority of my lashes that was falling out had the root still connected to it. I didn’t realize this was not the proper way eyelash extensions was supposed to be placed until I educated myself on it. I noticed that my natural lashes was getting thinner and thinner. I decided to take a break from this and let my lashes breath. When all of the eyelash extensions fell out I realized how short and thin my lashes had become. I didn’t have enough length to curl or put mascara on them. I would use eyelash strips to compensate for the length (which made my getting ready time longer).
February 8th, 2016 I got my eyelash extensions done by Lise. Before getting started, Lise did a consultation to get to know me and my lash type. She and I felt that the natural extensions would fit best for me being that I don’t wear makeup on my days off and like to look as natural as possible while traveling to Molokai.
During the eyelash extension process, Lise explained all the steps that she was doing which was comforting. Sometimes people can feel a little uncomfortable with someone working so close to the eye. She was very careful and made sure I was okay. When she was done she explained how to take care of my lashes and sent me home with an eyelash brush. She reminds you of all the things you should avoid and do to increase the longevity of the lashes.
While driving home, I realized that my lashes was not hanging in front of my eyes (which I was not used to due to my past experiences). Lise did such a good job that I totally forgot that I had gotten them done. That night I accidentally rubbed my eyes while washing my face. Thank goodness for that brush that Lise sent me home with. I used that to put whatever lashes got twisted from my rub.
The week after I had gotten them done, I started my morning sickness which lasted 24/7. Sleeping was my new best friend which put my lashes in a terrible situation. I would sleep on them all the time. Not caring about them I didn’t take care of them as much as I should’ve. Weeks flew by, after looking over my calendar I realized that it has been 4 weeks since we first put them on. I was amazed! In my previous experience with other eyelash stylist, I normally see patchy holes in my lashes 2 weeks out from when I first put them on. This was blowing my mind! I couldn’t believe the difference. I didn’t have any patchy holes in my lashes. All of my natural lashes were still very long and when I did find eyelashes in my bed they would be 1 eyelash extension to 1 natural eyelash with no root connected to it (which is what you’re supposed to be finding). Then 6 weeks came around I couldn’t believe it! I had a few lashes left on each eye. They looked so natural that I couldn’t see the difference between my real lash and the eyelash extension. I am so very happy with the longevity of this eyelash extension service that Lise did. She is a total professional and is well educated on what is best for the health and lifestyle of your eyelashes. I can’t believe my eyelash extensions lasted for 7 weeks. I am so happy with the entire process. Lise is such a sweet heart and well educated on eyelash extensions. I can’t see myself going anywhere else ever again when it comes to eyelash extensions. I’m a very satisfied client here!
Q & A
A: Lash Extensions are a glamorous new way to extend the length and thickness of natural eyelashes, and are a practical, convenient and beautiful alternative to the daily use of mascara. Unlike decades-old, traditional false lashes, lash extensions are the first innovation in lash lengthening that can be worn daily, without nightly removal. Because each tapered, synthetic lash is bonded to a single natural lash, the final result is natural and difficult to detect even close up.
A: When applied properly, lash extensions will not harm natural lashes. The application technique allows natural lashes to grow and thrive with extensions. This technique requires several different “isolation” steps during the application process so each extension is adhered to a single natural lash in order to prevent interruption of the lash growth cycle.
A: The initial application normally takes between 2 – 2 ½ hours depending on how many lashes are applied. Fills or touch-ups usually take about 1- 1 1/2 hours.
A: Each extension is bonded to a single natural lash. Our natural lashes have a life span of 6-8 weeks where each lash is on its own individual cycle. With proper care, extensions can last the life cycle of your natural lash.
A: The natural growth and loss of your own eyelashes will determine the frequency for touch-up/fills. To maintain the full appearance of a new set, 3-4 week is suggested.
A: Remove all eye makeup and clean your lashes with mild oil-free cleanser. Do not use oil-based makeup removers to clean your lashes prior to lash extension application. Come to your appointment with clean lashes—we’d rather spend time working on the application of your new eye lash extensions. “Wash lashes and pat dry or air dry eye lash extensions”.
“Brush lashes after washing and every morning and evening”.
Eyelashes aren’t just a pretty feature on the body; they have a very specific and important function. Eyelashes are designed to prevent objects from getting in the eyes. Each eyelash is actually a sensory hair that reflexively shuts the eyelid whenever it is touched by dirt, dust or anything else that could possibly get in the eye. The upper lid typically has about 90 to 150 lashes on it, while the bottom has between 70 and 80 lashes. Most eyelashes grow to be about 10 mm long (just over 3/8 inch).
Eyelash Growth Cycle
Long, thick eyelashes are one of the most desirable features a person can have. Thousands of products are sold to enhance the look of lashes, from mascara to lash conditioner to lash extensions. So, when you wake up in the morning and notice an eyelash or two that have fallen out, it can be a little unsettling. But it’s important to understand that this is normal process, because like every other hair on your body, eyelashes are perpetually moving through a natural growth cycle.
Eyelash and Hair Growth
Although it may not seem like it, hair growth is a pre-set function of the body. Every hair on your body follows a specific growth cycle and will grow to a specific length. Hair follows a three-phase growth cycle and eventually falls out, which is typically nothing to worry about.
3- Phases of body hair,
Anagen (Growth) Phase: The anagen phase is also called the growth phase.
Catagen (Transition) Phase: The catagen phase is also known as the transition phase. During this phase, the lash stops growing and the hair follicle shrinks.
Telogen (Resting) Phase: The telogen phase is also referred to as the resting phase. This phase can last more than 100 days before the eyelash falls out and a new one begins to grow.
DO NOT wet lashes the first 2 hrs after application of lash extensions.
DO NOT use manual eye lash curler, it can break extension and natural lash.
DO NOT perm eye lash extensions.
DO NOT tint eye lash extensions.
Avoid hot tubs, steaming showers, saunas, and steam facials, tanning beds, or swimming for 2 days after application.
Avoid sleeping on eye lash extensions.
Avoid rubbing or pulling eye lash extensions as it can pull out your natural lashes, if a lash becomes dislodged, please contact your technician to make an appointment to have the lash removed to avoid damaging your natural lash.
Avoid applying water proof mascara. Only apply water base mascara to the tips of lash extensions.
Avoid applying make-up, make-up removers, cleansers, moisturizers, eye creams, and pencil liners which contain oil, to eye area. Oils can break down the adhesive which bonds the extension to your natural lash.
Avoid products with the word Glycol, some eye drops contain oil or glycol.
Avoid touching lash extensions. Natural oils from our fingers can transfer to lashes.
